it was awesome this year..my friends n i sat with the whole group of Franciscan Friars!!! i think some parishoners were wondering if i was one of them coz i was was wearing a reddish-brown shirt with jeans! It was great attending the "vows" of the Brothers whom i've known and met almost every Sunday
After the event i Signed to Brother Rowland that i was nervous standing in front of them - he Signed back, something like, i'm giving Deaf Awareness to them, the Minister General of the Friars didn't know there were Deaf members (and a Friar, haha!) until he saw my interpreter-friend and i interpreting in Sign
and not to mention i got to hang around with the Friars from the Australia Province and i got their affirmation as an interpreter in the Deaf Community :) and one SPOKE HOKKIEN!!! WOOOOW!!!
and not to mention i got free 'gifts' for the night..YEEEAH!!! THANK YOU GOD! THANK YOU SAINT ANTHONY!!!
i never had a Patron Saint. Although i read of Saints who were born of the same birthdate as i am, i can't relate to them. I'm insecure: i'd like to relate to someone i know very dearly. Since my prayers have been answered through my prayers to Saint Anthony, Brother Rowland's cheerful advice, i'm born of the same month and i find myself BEING MYSELF in the Church where i'm inspired by the Friars - why not - Saint Anthony then!
but guilty as charged, i'm quite the opposite of him..there's always the reminder of trying though..
