The parish has now slowly acquainting itself with the presence of 4 priests. I am a little relieved that I could pass another portfolio over to the newly ordained priest, Fr Christopher Lee. One set of responsibility less to worry about.
Still, the challenge continues. After the Youth Mass this weekend, there is one other sacramental celebration to experience - the Pri. 3 First Communion. After that it would be the Catechists' retreat. But not before the Confirmation One's Rite of Enrolment. All these catechetical activities and their sacramental life issues flow in and out of the parish give some meaning to what the faith is all about and where all its movement is pointing towards - God.
But, in the practical aspect of each of the catechists, child, youth, parents, godparents, parishioners mind, do all this make any sense at all? We all say that (in all of these) "This is our fsith, this is the faith of the Church and we are proud to profess it in Christ Jesus Our Lord!." How much of this really gets into our own lives that we lead?
I'm reminded of this song and it may just be the answer, at least one that seems plausible for now:
Then we would hear God say
No matter what they tell you
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach you
What you believe is true
(No Matter What, Boyzone, 1999)
Perhaps, that is all I have to work on and humbly follow through for now...
