The world looked on in terror, appalled at what they are witnessing on their TV screens, newspaper headlines:

From 8.00am (EDT), on that fateful Tuesday morning, a chain of events that were to follow would change the world.

8.46am - WTC North Tower hit first.

9.03am - WTC South Tower hit.

9.45am - Pentagon hit.

10.05am - WTC South Tower collapses.

10.28am - WTC North Tower collapses.

The world came to a momentary halt. Everybody (except the terrorists) were in great disbelief, still struggling to recover from shock.

Manhatten became a symbol of a fallen & defeated country, with its trails of destruction.

Access to NYC was denied. Air traffic in America was 0 for the first time in history.

America changed. The world changed.

Thereafter, terrorism became the main topic/agenda of the world.

Osama bin Laden - still at large - was a household name by then, and it still is.

A war erupted 2 years later, in the name of eradicating this threat. Saddam Hussein is now one step close to being brought to justice.

The Bali Bombings...the Marriott Hotel blasts in Jakarta -

And just yesterday, the Australian Embassy in Jakarta was not spared either.

Notwithstanding these condemnable events, the bottomline is that more innocent lives have been unnecessarily lost, destroyed, scarred for life and other substantial damages incurred. Be it directly due to terrorism, or the fight against it.

I'm sure we still vividly recall these historic moments of disaster. 3 years have passed, and the fight against terrorism has embarked on a global scale. And it ain't stopping in the near future.

More lives would be lost.

And so we continue to offer our prayers and condolences to those who were and are hurt by these acts of terror, and by any other acts of violence that have erupted in the course of September 11th 2001.

For those enjoying peace & stability, like us Singaporeans and those in the region - let's be thankful to Him and we also continue to sustain and maintain peacekeeping efforts at the international, national, societal, communal & individual levels.

Peace to all mankind.

God Bless & Take Care~!

Peace Be With You.
